Democrats Serve PAC Endorses Josh Riley’s congressional bid (NY-19)
National organization plans to actively support U.S. House Candidate Josh Riley, highlighting his background in public interest law.
Milford, Conn. (April 24, 2023) — Today, Democrats Serve announced that it is endorsing Josh Riley for Congress in New York’s 19th District. Democrats Serve is a national organization that elects Democrats with unique public service backgrounds.
Brett Broesder, the PAC’s executive director, said that attorney Josh Riley’s public service background– including civil rights work for kids, service in the U.S. Labor Department, and his time as counsel in the U.S. Senate–makes him an excellent example of someone with the experience necessary to deliver results in Congress.
“Josh Riley is a fighter for Upstate New York,” said Broesder. “His public service experience and people-first priorities make him the strongest candidate for Democrats to win in November. That’s why Democrats Serve is proud to support Josh Riley’s congressional bid in New York’s 19th District.”
Riley said he’s proud to receive Democrats Serve’s endorsement.
"I'm honored to have Democrats Serve’s support," Riley said. "We need more public servants and fewer professional politicians in Congress. I'm looking forward to working with Democrats Serve to win this seat."
New York’s 19th District is in Upstate New York, stretching from Ithaca through the Southern Tier to the Catskills and Upper Hudson Valley. In 2022, Riley came within 1.6 points of defeating Republican Marc Molinaro, who currently holds the seat. In 2020, President Biden defeated President Trump in this district by 4.6 points. Cook Political Report has already rated the race a “toss-up.”
